Landing him a Pandora radio station streaming his music to hundreds of fans and counting. Not only is his music gaining ground, it is somehow also appealing to multiple age groups & backgrounds which is giving him an extensive variety of listeners from all over.
Born & raised in Charlotte, North Carolina.The youngest of four brothers Jae Gee grew up less fortunate. With his family moving around Charlotte from project to project due to low income Jae Gee attended 6 different grade schools all around his city. As kids Jae & his older brother Slim Hood (Producer of current Top 40 urban charts record “Coming Over”) would make beats and rap at home recording vocals in Slim’s bedroom closet. Ever since then music was a passion for Jae Gee. When Jae was in middle school he was expelled and sent to alternative school for the remainder of his middle school years. At this time Jae Gee was already into robbery, & theft to make his own money. Jae was also took part in gang violence growing up. When Jae Gee turned 16 he dropped out of his high school & remained in the streets day & night never coming home. A few years later Jae Gee’s older brother Slim Hood was indicted on Federal charges which he received a 5 year sentence. while serving that sentence Jae was on his own homeless sleeping outside or sometimes in a garage.
At 19years old Jae Gee hustled his way to a few dollars & started selling drugs. Jae Gee began to spend more time writing and recording music everyday to create his own unique style of delivery & even adlibs. Creating his brand that he calls GWAP today. When Jae Gee turned 23 Slim was released from federal prison. The reunited brothers decided to take music seriously. Recording over 100 songs for 2 years to come up with the perfect songs to comprise Jae Gee’s 11 track debut release.
